In the second year of the Arts Integration Grant, music was added to the Willow Creek curriculum following the same model used with our Visual Arts program. An experienced teacher was hired to provide music classes for all students. Long used in Europe, an Orff approach was selected for introducing students to all aspects of music: singing, rhythm, movement, literacy all are supported by this approach. Students are able to experiment with a variety of instruments (percussion, recorders, guitars, keyboards) and are ending the year with a major performance which includes all grade levels.
