4th Grade, 2009 - 2010
Teacher - Michelle Morris

Fourth grade is when we really begin to build and extend on the skills we learned, developed, and practiced in the earlier grades and move towards being more independent scholars. In Fourth Grade we aim to encourage personal integrity, love of learning, and self-fulfillment through a variety of teaching and learning strategies. Fourth Graders can look forward to accessing and studying the English Language Arts curriculum through a range of wonderful texts including Charlotte's Web, Matilda, Sarah, Plain and Tall, and The Island of the Blue Dolphins (and any other texts that we can manage to squeeze in)! Writing is also a big feature of Fourth Grade, and our budding scholars can expect to be taught strategies and given tools to write powerful paragraphs, summaries, responses to literature and narrative stories. Willow Creek Academy prides itself on maintaining a strong academic program and Fourth Grade supports that aim with a grade level program that emphasizes the excitement of learning and discovery within a challenging and dynamic classroom environment.

This year, our classroom motto is "Sapere Aude!" - we challenge you to discover what this means, and invite you to think about how we apply this concept to our everyday classroom life. Fourth Grade Forever!
